What this report does
Lists every component added to the system under the selected regulation within the selected date range, including the MOC Reference, equipment model, and packing associated with each component. Each row shows who suggested and approved the addition, why the component was activated, and its M21 and AVO inspection frequency codes.
The report is the equipment-focused counterpart to Activated Components. Use it when you need to verify that newly added components have the correct equipment model or packing recorded — for example, as part of a Management of Change review or a Low-E equipment audit. This report is available directly on the Reports tab.
When to use it
- Reviewing components added during a MOC period to confirm equipment model and packing are recorded.
- Auditing new construction additions to verify Low-E equipment data.
- Confirming the regulation binding, frequencies, and responsible personnel for newly activated components.
Parameters
| Parameter | Description | Required | How it filters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regulation | The regulation to report on | Yes | Only components mapped to this regulation appear |
| Unit Type | Whether to filter by Process Unit or Location Unit | Yes | Determines how units are identified in the output |
| Start Date | Beginning of the date window | Yes | Components with an add date on or after this date are included; the date is used as entered — it is not truncated to the start of the month |
| End Date | End of the date window | Yes | Components with an add date on or before this date are included; the date is expanded to the end of the day |
All units are always shown. There is no Units selection parameter — the report covers every unit of the selected type. Filter to a specific unit by reviewing the Unit column in the output.
Columns
| Column | What it shows | Format / Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Unit | The unit the component belongs to | Text; rows are grouped by unit, with a per-unit total count at the end of each group |
| Tag | Component tag number | Text |
| Date Added | Date the component was added to the system | Date; displayed in the component's local time |
| Type | Component type (level 1) | Text; e.g., "Valve", "Connector", "Pump", "Agitator", "OGI Spot" |
| M21Freq | M21 inspection frequency code assigned to the component | Text; e.g., "M" (Monthly), "Q" (Quarterly), "A" (Annual), "MMQ", "S" (Semi-Annual), "EX" (Exempt); blank if none assigned |
| AVOFreq | AVO inspection frequency code assigned to the component | Text; same frequency code values as M21Freq; blank if none assigned |

| Moc Reference | MOC reference number or code from the component equipment record | Text; blank if no MOC reference is recorded |
| Model | Equipment model code | Text; from the model or Low-E model assigned in the Component Equipment section of the tag view; blank if no model is recorded |
| Packing | Packing type code | Text; from the Low-E packing assigned in the Component Equipment section; blank if no packing is recorded |
| Suggestor | Person who suggested the component activation | Text; full name |
| Approver | Person who approved the component activation | Text; full name |
What's included and excluded
Included:
- Only components mapped to the selected regulation.
- Only components whose add date falls within the selected date range.
- All component types.
- All units of the selected unit type.
Excluded:
- Components not mapped to the selected regulation.
- Components added outside the date range.
- Deactivated components (this report shows additions only; see DeActivated Components for deactivations).
How key values are calculated
Date Added
The date the component was first added to the system, converted to the component's local time zone for display.
M21Freq / AVOFreq
The inspection frequency codes in effect as of the end of the report period for each inspection type (M21 and AVO respectively). Multiple frequency codes are shown comma-separated if more than one applies.
Moc Reference, Model, Packing
These fields come from the Component Equipment records attached to the component via the Component Equipment section of the tag view. The most recently installed equipment record is used. Moc Reference shows the first available reference from either the model record or the packing record. All three are blank when no equipment has been recorded.
Suggestor and Approver
For components activated via a MOC process, the Suggestor and Approver are the people recorded on the MOC. For components activated directly (without a MOC), the Suggestor and Approver are the people recorded on the component itself.
Tips and common questions
- "Model and Packing are blank for most of my components." Blank equipment columns mean no equipment model or packing has been recorded for that component. Use the Component Equipment section of the tag view to add or verify equipment records.
- "I see the same component appear twice." A component can appear more than once if it has multiple profile history entries in the date window — for example, if it was activated and then its profile was updated again within the period.
- "Why doesn't the report let me filter to a specific unit?" The report always shows all units. Use the Unit column in the output to focus on a specific unit, or export to Excel and filter there.
- "What is Active Why?" Active Why is the reason code selected when the component was set to an active profile. Common values include "New Construction" (new physical equipment added), "ReTag" (existing component re-tagged with a new identifier), "New Unit" (component added as part of a new unit being brought into the system), and "New Rule Interpretation" (a regulatory reinterpretation caused the component to be activated under this regulation).
- "Only one equipment record appears per component even though multiple were installed." This report shows only the most recently installed equipment record per component. If a component had equipment installed, replaced, and installed again within the date range, only the most recent installation appears. For a full equipment installation history, check the component's equipment tab in Chateau.
- "The Model shown is different from what I see on the component's standard equipment record." When a component has both a standard equipment model and a Low-Emission (LowE) model assigned, this report displays the LowE model. The LowE model takes priority because it reflects the emissions-reducing equipment configuration that is relevant for regulatory reporting.
Sample output
Report run for Example Facility, Regulation: Consent Decree, Unit Type: Location Unit, StartDate: 2/1/2024, EndDate: 2/23/2024.
What the rows illustrate:
All rows — same date, unit, type, and MOC: All six valves were added on the same date (2/1/2024) to the ALKALYZATION unit under a single MOC reference (11-834732s), with the same Suggestor (Bob Vance) and Approver (George Smith). This is a typical batch activation pattern where multiple components are brought in together under one management of change event.
Model = 150F/300F, Packing blank: All six rows have an equipment model recorded (150F/300F) but no packing value. This illustrates that Model and Packing are independent fields — a component can have a model assigned without a packing type recorded.
Active Why = MOC: The reason code is "MOC" rather than the more descriptive values such as "New Construction" or "New Unit", showing that sites can configure their own Active Why values in addition to the common defaults.
AVOFreq blank: No AVO frequency is assigned to any of the six valves — only M21 (MMQ) is in effect under this regulation.
Total: 6: The per-unit count at the bottom of the ALKALYZATION group confirms all six activations fall within the selected date window. No other units appear because the 2/1/2024–2/23/2024 window produced no activations in any other unit.
Output format
One row per component, grouped by unit with a per-unit total. Suitable for on-screen viewing, PDF, and Excel export.
