Build a Tour from the Component Grid

In some cases, it may be easier to build a tour from the Component grid rather than the Schedule, especially when working with specific component types.

For example, if you need to create a tour for Potential Open-Ended Line Components or NDE components, this information is found in the Component grid, not the Schedule. Follow the steps below to build a tour from the Component Grid.

  • Note: Tags added to tours from grids other than the Schedule grid will automatically be removed from the Schedule if the inspection type is the same, and the due date is on or before the one in the Schedule. This prevents duplicate tours from being created.
  1. Open the Component grid.

  2. Build your query to filter the desired components.

  3. Select all relevant components.

  4. Click Add to Tour.

  5. Choose one of the following options:

    1. Build a new tour:

      • Enter a tour name.

      • Select whether the tour will be an Evergreen Tour (see Evergreen Tours for more details).

      • Choose an Inspection Type and InspectionWhy.

      • Assign the tour to a technician (optional).

      • Set a due date.

        • Important: The due date is critical. Once it passes, the tour will be deleted, and any uninspected components will require a new tour if they still need attention. See Expiration of Tours After Due Date for more details.

      • Click Build Tour.

    2. Add to existing tour:

      • Select an existing tour from the grid (columns are filterable).

      • Choose an InspectionWhy Type and InspectionWhy.

      • Set a due date.

        • Important: The due date is critical. Once it passes, the tour will be deleted, and any uninspected components will require a new tour if they still need attention. See Expiration of Tours After Due Date for more details.

      • Click Add To Tour.
