MMQ stands for Month/Month/Quarter and refers to LDAR rules that change a component’s monitoring schedule from monthly to quarterly after passing for two consecutive months.
MMQ Phases
The MMQ Phase is defined and maintained by Chateau on any MMQ component even when the component is not scheduled to be monitored. There are three phases:
- M1 – The first month of monitoring after a component is added to the database or the first month of requalification after a leak has been repaired.
- M2 – The second month after a component has been added and passed inspection, or the second month of requalification after a leak has been repaired.
- mmQ – The quarterly phase when a component has passed monthly inspections for 2 consecutive months after being added or having been repaired.
All MMQ Phase updates happen when the Run Rules process is initiated either manually or automatically overnight.
Note: For newly-tagged databases, if no past inspection records were imported, the components will start in the M1 phase as if they were newly added. If these are existing components already qualifying for quarterly inspections, please send a request to LDARtools Support to update your MMQ components to the mmQ phase.
MMQ Phase Reset
There are three different events that will “reset” the MMQ phase to M1:
- A failing M21 inspection
- Component Replacement (when a new equipment model is installed)
- Missed inspection – if the component is currently in the M2 phase
- If a component is in the mmQ phase, then a missed inspection will NOT reset the phase back to M1. The component will be rescheduled the next consecutive month of the quarter. This will continue until the inspection is performed.
M21Why for MMQ Components
Chateau assigns each of the phases for MMQ a special M21Why:
| M21Why | Definition |
| M1 | The first month of monthly monitoring after a component is initially added. |
| m1 | The first month of requalification monitoring after a leak on an existing component. |
| M2 | The second month of monthly monitoring after a component is initially added. The first month (M1) must be passing. |
| m2 | The second month of requalification monitoring after a leak on an existing component. The first month (m1) must be passing. |
| mmQ | The quarterly event that occurs after a passing result on an M2 or m2 inspection. |
Examples
| InspectionWhy | Inspection Result | Next Scheduled InspectionWhy |
| M1 - On a newly added component | Pass | M2 |
| M1 - On a newly added component | Fail | M1 |
| m1 | Pass | m2 |
| M2/m2 | Pass | mmQ |
| mmQ | Pass | mmQ |
| mmQ | Fails | m1 |
When an mmQ Inspection Fails
An MMQ component in the mmQ (quarterly) phase is monitored and leaks:
- Its frequency is still MMQ.
- Its Next M21 Due is BLANK (because it is done for the current period)
- BUT… the MMQ Phase is immediately updated to M1 on the Home Screen, Component grid, and the MMQ Phase property field in the Tag View indicating that the leak was recognized and the phase has been updated.
- The Schedule will not show the m1 inspection scheduled until the first of the next month.
MMQ Group
MMQ Group designates the month of the quarter in which the mmQ monitoring is to be scheduled.
- This field is a Component Property and can be edited individually or by using the Multi-Edit feature in the Component Grid.
- Note: MMQ Group edits are NOT tracked on the MOC Porch. You won’t be able to see the past MMQ Group changes in the Historical MOC Porch.
IMPORTANT: If a component does NOT have an MMQ Group assigned, Chateau will treat any inspection performed during the scheduled quarter (other than a retest) as satisfying the schedule requirement.
You can control when the MMQ Monitoring is done by setting each MMQ component to one of the following groups:
| MMQ Group | Means the mmQ monitoring will be performed in… |
| Month 1 | The first month of each quarter. |
| Month 2 | The second month of each quarter. |
| Month 3 | The third month of each quarter. |
| None | ANY month of the quarter. The due date will show as the end of the quarter. |
Below are a few component scenarios you will see on the component grid.
| Tag | Frequency | NextM21Why | MMQ Phase | MMQ Group | If you see this in Component grid, it means… |
| 1 | MMQ | M1 | M1 | Month 1 |
M1 Phase – Due in the current month. The MMQ group designation has no effect on the schedule since the phase is still Monthly. This component is brand new and has not been monitored for the first time yet. |
| 2 | MMQ | M1 | Month 2 |
M1 Phase – Completed monthly inspection (indicated by a blank NextM21Why) which leaked (indicated by the phase still being M1). The MMQ group designation has no effect on the schedule since the phase is still Monthly. |
|
| 3 | MMQ | m2 | M2 | Month 3 |
M2 phase – Due in the current month. It was monitored LAST month as an m1 and DID NOT LEAK. The MMQ group designation has no effect on the schedule since the phase is still Monthly. |
| 4 | MMQ | mmQ | Month 2 |
mmQ phase – Either:
|
|
| 5 | MMQ | mmQ | mmQ | mmQ phase – Due in the current quarter and can be performed at any month of the quarter (indicated by blank MMQ Group). |
