The purpose of the scrubber media is to provide air filtration. As it filters air, the oxidizing agent changes from fuchsia to khaki. Once the oxidizing agent becomes khaki, it’s time to replace the scrubber media.

Procedure

Place the phx42 in Sleep Mode.

Use the scrubber spanner wrench to loosen the scrubber chamber cap. Once loosened, you should be able to unscrew it by hand.

Remove the scrubber chamber cap.

Remove the first poly filter disk.

Dump the activated charcoal out of the scrubber.

Remove the second poly filter disk.

Dump the Purafil select out of the scrubber.

Remove the third poly filter disk in the bottom of the scrubber chamber.
- Note: If the third poly filter disk looks to be in good shape, you may leave it in place.

Discard the used poly filter disks, charcoal and Purafil Select*.

Insert one poly filter disk and push it to the bottom of the scrubber chamber making sure it is flat against the scrubber seal.

Pour in the new Purafil Select.

Insert one poly filter disk and tamp carefully against the Purafil Select.

Pour in the new activated charcoal.

Insert the last poly filter disk.
-
Insert and finger-tighten the scrubber chamber cap only until no threads are visible.
*Purafil Select should be disposed of according to local, state, and federal guidelines.
