Analyzers and Calibrations

Connecting to and Managing an Analyzer

Note: Only one analyzer can be connected per mobile device.

1. Tap the Analyzer card on the dashboard.

2. Either let Chateau Mobile automatically search for analyzers, or click Search to update the list of available analyzers. Or tap Select Non-Bluetooth Analyzer if the analyzer you are looking for is not Bluetooth-compatible.

3. Tap the analyzer you wish to connect to when it appears.

4. Confirm the Probe Type, and check that hydrogen and battery are sufficient. The analyzer screen shows Hydrogen (with a level bar), Battery, Battery Status, Ignition Status, the Current PPM the analyzer is reading and the Current Background, along with a Set New Background link.

5. Tap Ignite if the analyzer has not been ignited (for compatible analyzers only). Once it is lit the same button reads Unignite. To disconnect from the connected analyzer, tap the analyzer card in the dashboard, and then tap the Disconnect button next to the analyzer ID.

Entering Calibrations

1. Tap the hamburger icon (3 horizontal lines) to open the main menu.

2. Tap Calibrations. This opens straight into a short menu — Calibrate, Input Confirmation PPM and Input Drift Record — with no warning at this point.

3. Tap Calibrate. Now the warning appears: "By continuing you will wipe the current calibrations saved on your phx, do you want to continue?" Tap Yes only if you intend to replace them. The Calibration screen then opens, headed with the analyzer ID, listing the analyzer's Current Calibrations with the date and time each was set, and offering the three buttons below.

4. Use Calibrate for standard calibrations. Only use Calibrate Zero and Calibrate Spans to correct out-of-range drifts.

   • Calibrate calibrates to zero and spans in one sequence.

   • Calibrate Zero calibrates to zero gas only.

   • Calibrate Spans calibrates to set the upper calibration points.

5. Tap Calibrate on that screen to start a standard calibration.

6. Enter the PPM you wish to calibrate to and tap Generate.

7. Wait for the count down to complete and acknowledge the completion.

8. Enter a different PPM and repeat to calibrate to different concentrations.

9. Tap Done after you have entered calibrations for all desired concentrations.

Entering Confirmations

1. Ensure you are connected to an analyzer and checked out. Go to the main menu at the top-left and select Calibrations.

2. Tap Input Confirmation PPM.

3. Enter the calibration time and probe type, then tap Next.

4. Select from the list of currently available cylinders in the database or tap Add Cylinder to add a cylinder to the list.

5. Tap Next once you have confirmed the cylinder selection. It will take you to the Input Confirmation PPM page.

6. The analyzer’s current reading will be reflected in the Analyzer PPM field. Tap Record & Next to use this for the confirmation PPM, or you can type in the Manual PPM field, tap Record & Next, and it will disregard the device PPM and instead show the PPM you entered.

7. Repeat this process for each cylinder.

8. Once you have finished entering the PPM, tap Save Confirmation and confirm the records.

9. Now you can begin your inspections for the day. After checking in, the confirmation data will be available in Chateau.

Entering Drifts

1. Ensure you are connected to an analyzer and checked out. Go to the main menu at the top-left and select Calibrations.

2. Tap Input Drift Record.

   • Note: Chateau checks that the connected analyzer has a same-day calibration on file before letting you continue. If it does not, you will see a message asking you to calibrate the analyzer first, rather than being taken into the drift entry screen. This same check applies if you reach the drift step from a Cooling Tower Inspection.

3. Enter the time, probe type, drift type (noon or end-of-day), drift method (standard or VVa), select drift to confirmation or cylinder PPM, and tap Next.

4. Now you are in the Input Drift Record page. The cylinders used for confirmation are automatically selected from the record of the daily calibration confirmation you recorded earlier.

5. The analyzer’s current reading will be reflected in the Analyzer PPM field. Tap Record & Next to use this for the drift PPM, or you can type in the Manual PPM field, tap Record & Next, and it will disregard the device PPM and instead show the PPM you entered.

6. When you have finished entering the PPM for each cylinder, tap Save Drift and confirm the records.

7. The drift records will be sent to Chateau after you have checked back in.
