Quick View, Component Details and Action Menu

Quick View

When you tap a tag number in the Tag Search or the tour, you will be taken to the Quick View.

1. The back arrow will take you back to the tour or the component search, depending on where you were before viewing this tag.

4. Move to the previous tag number in the sequence.
    
5. Move to the next tag number in the sequence.
    
6. Open Leak or Open DOR banner, showing the component has an open record. Tap it to open the Leak and DOR Details screen — see the section below.
    
7. Essential component properties. Tap View Details to enter the Component Details.
    
8. Inspection Options, which allow you to switch Inspection Types and record inspections.
    
9. Tap Image/Map to switch between them. In the map, the stretching arrows enlarge the map, the crosshair centers the map on your location, and the distance-and-bearing pill — top-left, reading for example 13.9 m NE — centers it back on the component. A target image will be available if previously uploaded. If the component has no GPS coordinates recorded, the map area shows Component does not have Coordinates instead, and none of those controls appear — the component simply has no position to center on yet.

Component Details

8. Tabs and detailed component information under each tab. You will always have the Image, History, Navigation and Comments tabs.

10. History: A timeline of the component's activity, showing inspections and repair attempts together, newest first, including who performed each attempt. Tap the 3-dot button next to an entry to add or edit a comment on it, or to delete it; deleting an attempt asks for a reason.
     
11. Navigation: To view the map.
     
12. Comments: To view and add free-text comments on the component. A badge on the tab shows how many exist. If there are none you will see "No comments yet — Add the first comment on this component." Tap Add Comment to write one (up to 1024 characters, with a live counter). A comment you have added but not yet checked in is marked YOU · NEW and has Edit and Delete beneath it. Comments that came down from Chateau show who wrote them and cannot be edited or deleted on the handheld — and once you check in, your own comment becomes read-only too.
     

13. The other tabs are customized in the Chateau Mobile Fields. A user with Chateau Access role will define what are the names of the tabs, and what properties are in each tab. If you have the Suggester role, you can tap the properties to edit them. Editing happens in the row itself for text, number and yes/no properties, and in a bottom sheet for lookups, component type and Profile. You enter one Change Why when you save, covering everything you changed. See Component Management for the full walkthrough, including editing several components at once.

Leak and DOR Details

When a component has an open leak or an open Delay of Repair, Component Details shows a banner at the top — Open Leak or Open DOR, with the date it was opened and "tap to view". Tap it to open the full record. The screen is titled Leak Details or DOR Details depending on which kind of record it is; both work the same way.

The record header

The top of the screen tells you what you are looking at without leaving it:

Open Leak or Open DOR, with how long it has been open on the right — for example "Open 12 days". Component — the tag, type and LUnit, for example 401 · Valve · B72. Opened — the date and the inspection that opened the record, with the reading where there is one, for example 08/07/26 · M21 48032 ppm. Work Order — the row is always shown, and sits empty until a work order has been recorded. Emission points — see below.

Emission points

The emission points on the record are listed here, or "No emission points recorded" if there are none.

What you can do here depends on whether the record has been checked in yet.

On a record that has come down from Chateau, each point carries an × so you can remove it, and + Add New opens the Add Emission Point sheet. Use the Filter box to narrow the list, then choose a point. You add one at a time: tapping a value adds it and closes the sheet straight away, so reopen + Add New for each additional point. Close is there for backing out without choosing. The list is the same whatever the component type, so not every value will be meaningful for the component you are on.

On a leak you opened in this session and have not checked in yet, the emission point is the single value recorded on the inspection rather than a list. The points carry no ×, and + Edit replaces the value instead of adding to it. This appears on M21 and OGI leaks only — AVO and Cooling Tower inspections have no emission point, so no button is shown.

In every case you can only choose from the emission points already set up for your database — you cannot create a new value from this screen.

Log Repair Attempt and Retest

Log Repair Attempt asks you to confirm first — Record a repair attempt? — and then opens the Attempt Repair screen. Who performed it and the date are filled in for you, and you choose how the attempt was performed from the methods set up for your database (for example Clean, See Document or Tighten). Save Repair and Save & Retest both stay grayed out until you pick a method. Tapping Save Repair brings you back to this screen, with the attempt already showing at the top of the Timeline, so you can carry on with the record.

There is one exception worth knowing: if you use Save & Retest, you are not brought back here. You are left on the component's Quick View so the retest can begin straight away.

Retest opens a bottom sheet headed Retest — Which Inspection? ("Choose the inspection you're performing.") offering M21, OGI and AVO in that order. Once you choose, you are returned to the component's Quick View with that inspection type already selected in the inspection options, ready for you to record it.

Timeline

The Timeline tab lists everything that has happened on this record, newest first.

Inspections are tagged with their type — INSPECTION · M21, INSPECTION · OGI or INSPECTION · AVO — and show the inspection reason such as Monthly, Annual or Investigation, the Result of Pass or Fail, the reading where there is one, the date and time, and any comment recorded on the inspection. Repair attempts are tagged REPAIR ATTEMPT and show what was done, who it was Attempted By, and the date and time. The inspection that opened the record is marked Leak opened here — that wording is used on a DOR record too, not just on a leak.

A count at the bottom tells you how much you are seeing, for example "Showing 3 of 3".

The timeline is read-only — it is a record of what happened, and nothing on it can be changed from this screen. It covers activity from the moment the record was opened onward, so an inspection performed earlier on the same day the leak opened is not listed, even though it shares the same date.

Images

The Images tab shows the photos on the record, each labeled with its date, and the tab carries a count. If there are none you will see "No Image Available".

Tap Add Leak Photo, then choose Take Photo or Choose From Camera Roll. Choose From Camera Roll opens your device's photo picker, where you can select more than one image before confirming.

Either way, the photo then opens in an annotation screen before it is attached. You can draw on it — there is a pen, a brush, a color picker, undo and delete — which is how you mark where on the component the leak actually is. Tap Save to attach it, or Cancel to discard it.

On a leak you opened in this session and have not checked in yet, Add Leak Photo is grayed out rather than hidden — a photo has to be filed against a checked-in record. Check your work in, then add it.

A photo you have added in this session has an × so you can remove it. It is removed straight away — there is no confirmation prompt — and it cannot be recovered, so tap it deliberately. Photos that came down from Chateau have no × and have to be removed in Chateau instead.

If you see "Photo Not Saved", the leak record reached the handheld without the inspection the photo has to be filed against. Check your work in, check the component out again to get the complete record, then add the photo.

If you see "Photo Unavailable", the photo could not be read from the device and was not added. Try again, or take a new one.

Comments

The Comments tab shows the comments on the record, and carries a count once there is at least one. With none you see No comments on this leak yet above the Add Comment button.

Adding a comment is only possible on a record that has come down from Chateau. Tap Add Comment and type into the box — this dialog is a plain field with Cancel and Save, with no character counter (unlike the component Comments tab described earlier). Each comment shows its author and date, and one you have added but not yet checked in is marked YOU · NEW with Edit and Delete beneath it. Comments that came down from Chateau show who wrote them and cannot be edited or deleted on the handheld — and once you check in, your own comment becomes read-only too, the same as any other.

On a leak you opened in this session and have not checked in yet, the tab shows the empty state with no Add Comment button. Check your work in first, then the comment can be added.

If you see "Comment Not Saved", your user could not be identified. Sign in again, then add the comment.

Action Menu

When in the Quick View or the Component Details page, tapping the 3-dot button next to the inspection options will take you to the Action Menu. It opens as a bottom sheet. QR/Barcode Scan, Attempt Repair and Set Background sit at the top as icon buttons; everything else is a list beneath them.

Not every entry below appears on every database. The field-event actions — Open Ended Lines, Open Ended Lines Not Tagged, AVO Not Tagged, Bad Route, Suspect Non-VOC, Did Not Monitor, Unknown Component and Missing Tag — are each shown only when that field event is enabled in Chateau. On a database with them switched off the menu is much shorter, listing only Copy To Add, Add Via Photo, OGI Survey, Record Deviation and Cooling Tower Inspection.
