Before You Begin Your First Tour

To ensure a smooth and efficient start with the Chateau program, we recommend configuring the following sections before deploying technicians into the field. Proper preparation will maximize the program’s capabilities and provide your team with the necessary tools and resources for success.

 Technician Setup

• Verify all technicians have active accounts in Chateau, with credentials (email and password).
   
• Assign appropriate roles:
  • Technician Role: Required for accessing Chateau Mobile.
     
  • Suggester Role: (Optional) Allows technicians to make edits in the handheld device.

 
Miscellaneous Settings

The following options can be configured prior to field deployment to customize how technicians interact with the program:

• Enable Background Adjustment to Gross PPM: Subtracts background levels from the final reading.
   
• Enable Simple Maintenance: Prompts technicians to perform basic repairs when a leak is detected.
   
• Require ReTest with Attempt: When a repair attempt is recorded, this prompts the technician to conduct a retest.
   
• Enable Technician Sign Off: Requires technicians to confirm daily work completion before checking data into the database.
   
• Sort Tours by LUnit then Tag (not Route Sequence): Overrides route sequencing in the handheld, sorting components by tag number instead.
   
• Chateau Mobile Non-Tour Tags Database Generation Policy: Allows components within the same Area or LUnit as the tour but not included in the tour to be checked out in Chateau Mobile. This helps technicians investigate components found outside the designated tour.

 
Chateau Mobile Settings

You can enhance technician efficiency and reduce data-entry errors by customizing the accessibility and layout of properties in Chateau Mobile:

• Specify which properties are visible to technicians.
   
• Configure the display order of properties, tab organization, and tab names.
   
• Customize labels for property fields within Chateau Mobile.

Sample Times

This section allows you to set detailed monitoring times:

• Component-Specific Sample Times: Define sample durations based on component type and size.
   
• Default Sample Time: Establish monitoring times for components that do not match specified criteria.
   
• Deflection PPM: Set the threshold at which technicians must monitor a component for additional time.
   
• Dwell Time: Define the required additional monitoring time when the Deflection PPM threshold is exceeded.

 
Attempt Picklists

The Attempts picklist controls the repair attempt options available in Chateau Mobile.

• Technicians can only select predefined repair types to maintain consistency and avoid duplicate entries.
   
• Ensure the picklist includes all potential repair attempt options technicians may need.

Field Events

Field Events are optional features allowing technicians to flag specific component-related issues while enabling customizable workflows for handling these events:

• Flagged components will appear as alerts on the Administrator’s Porch, provided the audit alert feature is enabled.
   
• Component Prompts: These allow you to configure custom messages displayed when a technician opens a component meeting predefined criteria.

 
Safety Events

Safety Events are optional safety-related features allowing you to configure messages and notices for specific scenarios, such as:

• DTMs
• Simple Maintenance

 
M21 Variance

The M21 Variance feature allows you to create a predefined list of reasons why a technician may be unable to complete a full M21 inspection.

• Technicians can select a reason from the list in Chateau Mobile.
   
• Inspections performed with an M21 variance will appear on the Administrator’s Porch as alerts, assuming the audit alert is enabled.

 
Scout: Enable Tracking

Enabling tracking in the Scout section of Chateau allows you to:

• View technicians’ daily paths and work progress on the Scout Map.

OGI Sensitivity Checklist

If you are using Chateau to prompt, track, store, and audit your OGI Sensitivity Checks, you need to populate the picklist for this feature—via Settings > Picklists > OGI.

By configuring these sections in advance, you can ensure your technicians are equipped with the tools they need for a seamless and productive experience using Chateau.
