SmartFlags in Chateau Mobile

Skill Procedure
Check Out Identify yourself and select Check Out.
Check In Go to Home / Sync / Check In. When the Done prompt appears, the Check-in is complete.
Open SmartFlag Hamburger Menu. Toward the bottom of list.
Add a Flag

Select Add.

Note: You cannot create a flag with only one tag. Each flag must have at least 2 tags.

Resort order of Existing Flags You can re-sort the order of existing flags in SmartFlag by changing the Flag ID Number. SmartFlag will automatically resort the flags in numerical order. They will also sort if you use decimals.
Pending Means components that have been tagged, but not documented.
Edit a Flag From the first screen, select Edit Flag.
Keyboard Skills Tap somewhere you want to enter data. The keyboard will appear. To make the keyboard disappear, tap the check mark in the circle.
Adding Numbers from Keyboard Turn on the number pad by selecting ?123 in the lower-left corner. Or press the numbers on your regular keyboard and release when the number appears.
Grid Skills Scroll the grid to display the area to the right. If the grid does not display, swipe the screen to the right or left and it will paint.

You can adjust the width of the columns by holding down the left margin line and dragging the right margin line either to the left (to make the column narrower) or to the right (to make it wider).

If you want to hide or add columns, go to the action menu in the column and click More. If you want to sort the grid, click More.
Record tag numbers that are out of sequence 1. Enter the first sequence (e.g., 1-10)
2. Select Done.
3. Select Hang Tags again.
4. Enter the next sequence (e.g., 12-15).
5. Select Done. This will then prevent tag 11 from being recorded.
Open Document Grid Select Flag, then Document Tags.
Starting to Document a Tag Tap on the line to select it. Then tap on the field you want to edit.
Ready In the first column, the Not Ready will switch to Ready when you have entered all the fields.
FIRST THING – ROUTE SEQUENCE! Input the beginning Route Sequence number. Chateau Mobile will then assign the next Route Sequence number you document during this session, regardless what Flag you are on or where on the Documenting grid you are.
Changing a Property in the Grid If you have entered HL, for instance, and want to change it to GV:

1. Select the box where HL is shown.
2. You must then clear HL from the filter by tapping at the end of the text.
3. Hit the backspace to delete the shown entry.
4. This will display the entire picklist and you can select the proper value.
Carried Edits Means Chateau Mobile will carry the marked properties from the previous component to the next component.
Stop the Carried Edits Select >Carried Edits in the lower-left corner. Delete the ones you want stopped and select the Carried Edits text again.
Add a SubTag Select Copy / Add SubTag.
Add a Tag 1. Tap on the last line in the grid.
2. Say No to Carried Edits.
3. Enter the tag number.
4. Tap on new line.
5. Say Yes or No to Carried Edits.
6. Edit as needed.
7. Note that the Route Sequence has been updated even though the tag is not “in order” on the grid.
8. Tap on the next component you want to document and proceed.
Add columns from Flag properties and edit those properties 1. From the Documenting grid, tap on the three-dot icon.
2. Tap on More.
3. Find the Physical State Property.
4. The check mark is gray.
5. Tap on it to turn it to blue to display it in the Documenting grid.
6. Tap on the X.
7. Find the column.
8. Make the edit.
9. At this point, you can either leave the property displayed (and make other edits) or repeat the above steps to change the check mark back to gray and remove the column from the Documenting grid.
Using the Location Builder After you have created the first one, you can edit the next one by changing any specific item.
Location Builder Text Field You can create location descriptions by tapping the test field at the top. If you mark this property to Carry Forward, it will be copied over to the next component and you can edit in this field, too.
Rules for Location Builder 1. You must have a Level, Ft from Boots, REN Relational and REN.
2. If you have a SubREN, you must also have a SubREN Relational.
Blank Loc Builder If you open a Location in the Builder and there is a Loc in the top line, but NONE OF THE ITEMS IN THE BUILDER ARE POPULATED, then you are a looking at a bad Location.

Something is missing. Tap in the line at the top, delete the text there and build a new Location from scratch.
Clearing Data from a Location 1. Open the Location Builder by tapping on the Location.
2. Tap Next to the Loc on the top line.
3. Backspace to remove the entire Location. Tap OK.
4. Rebuild your Loc.
Adding REN or SubREN 1. Tap in the REN Filter box.
2. Type in the REN name.
3. YOU MAY NOT USE A SPACE IN THE REN OR SUBREN NAME. To create a new REN, you must use 2 (or more) letters and 1 (or more numbers) with no spaces.
4. The New button will light up.
5. Tap on the New Button.
6. Select OK.
Matching Tag to an old (existing) Tag Tap the Old Tag space for that tag. Select the Tag Number.
Save You MUST Save the grid before you check in the data. If you don’t save, you will lose the data. Save frequently to prevent this.
Weaving tags on different Flags together into the same Route Sequence As you move from Flag to Flag to document, the Route Sequence will stay in the order you are documenting. But if you move to a Flag you have not documented in this session, it will not have any other Carry Forward edits.

If you have already documented a tag in this session, the Carry Forwards you had when you left that Flag will be activated.
Adding a Tag among SubTags Adding a tag after you have added SubTags. Unless you make a special arrangement, this will add the new tag BETWEEN the previous tag and the first SubTag.

To avoid this you should document the new (ADDED) BEFORE you insert the SubTags. Document Tag 17. Document NEW TAG 77777. Then go back to tag 17 and insert the SubTags. Then proceed with tag 77777 (by adding SubTags) or documenting tag 18.
Moving Tag to a different Flag If you assign tag 17 to Flag 5 but don’t document it, you can assign it to a different Flag, but only document it once. Chateau will “forget” you assigned tag 17 to a previous Flag.
Edit a Property on a Tag based on the Flag Properties assigned to that Tag If you want to edit a property populated by the Flag, for instance, you know the Flag is marked for HL, but you know this component (or others) should be edited to GV.

The first thing you have to do is get the Physical State column displayed in the grid.

1. From the Documenting grid…
2. Tap the three-dot icon.
3. Tap More
4. Find the Physical State property.
5. The check mark is gray.
6. Tap it to turn it blue. This means it will be displayed in the Documenting grid.
7. Tap on the X.
8. Find the column.
9. Make the edit.

At this point, you can either leave the property displayed (and make other edits), or repeat the above steps to change the check mark back to gray and remove the column from the Documenting grid.
