Deleting an Inspection in Chateau Mobile

Published: 2026-11-03      Revised: ---

You can delete an inspection or repair attempt in Chateau Mobile if it was logged by mistake. This works for M21, AVO, OGI, and Cooling Tower inspections, and for repair attempts.

Important: You can only delete inspections and attempts logged on your device since you checked out. To delete an inspection that's already in Chateau, use Chateau on the web. See Delete an Inspection and Delete a Repair Attempt.

Delete an inspection or repair attempt

  1. Find the component and open its Quick View.
  2. Tap View Details.
  3. Tap the History tab. Inspections and repair attempts logged this session are listed, newest first.
  4. Tap the three-dot menu on the inspection or attempt you want to delete.
  5. Tap Delete Inspection (or Delete Attempt).
  6. Type the reason you're deleting it. A reason is required.
  7. Tap Delete.

The inspection or attempt is removed from the History tab.

Warning: Deleting an OGI inspection permanently deletes its photos and videos. Deleting an inspection with leak images also deletes those images. This can't be undone.

What happens next

  • The deleted inspection or attempt is not sent to Chateau when you check in.
  • If the deleted inspection was a failed reading, Chateau won't create a leak from it.
  • A deletion record is kept for the audit trail, with who deleted it, when, and the reason. If your database uses the Deleted Inspections porch, deleted inspections show there after check-in.

Tip: If an inspection was logged on the wrong component and has already been checked in to Chateau, fix it in Chateau on the web. You can either edit the inspection and move it to the correct tag, or delete the inspection and re-enter it manually on the correct tag. Deleting requires the Delete Inspections and Repair Attempts role. See Delete an Inspection and Delete a Repair Attempt.
